The immigration refugee and citizenship Canada issued fresh Express Entry invitations on June 24, inviting immigration candidates who had provincial nominations.

Canada’s immigration ministry (IRCC) issued invitations to 392 PNP candidates with Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores of 696 and above.

All these candidates had previously received provincial nominations and were granted an extra 600 points toward their overall score. This means without the provincial nomination the candidates would have had a CRS of Ninety-six (96).

The CRS ranks human capital factors such as age, work experience, educational qualifications, and official language proficiency to determine which Express Entry candidate would have high chances of succeeding in the Canadian labour market.

Express Entry is Canada’s main routes to Canadian permanent residence for skilled foreign workers and it manages the pool of candidates for the Federal Skilled Trade s Class, Federal Skilled Workers Class and Canadian Experience Class.

A tie-break rule was used in this draw. All Express Entry candidates with a CRS score of at least 696 who lodged their profile before April 23, 2020, at 10:39:30 UTC, got an invitation in this round.

Since the federal government announced special COVID-19 measures restricting travel on March 18, Canada has been conducting regular Express Entry draws targeting provincial nominees and Canadian Experience Class candidate.

So far, the federal government of Canada has held fifteen (15) draws through these two programs and rolled out tens of thousands of Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Canadian immigration.

Immigration targets are presently on track to surpass last year’s levels. Despite travel restrictions, more invitations were issued this year than at the same time in 2019. To date, as of June 24, a sum total of 46,392 principal applicants have been invited to apply for Canadian permanent residence in 2020.

Canada Invites 392 PNP Candidates

Recent weeks have also seen a significant amount of activity among Canada’s Express Entry-aligned provincial nominee streams. In the past seven (7) days alone, more than a thousand immigration candidates have been contacted by Canada’s provincial immigration authorities to apply for a provincial nomination.

These programs allow Canada’s provinces and territories to select candidates in the federal Express Entry system who meet their individual labour market requirements and nominate them for Canadian immigration.

In order to be considered for a provincial nomination via one of Canada’s Express Entry-aligned streams, the first major step is to submit a valid Express Entry profile.
